The Best Bones Forever! campaign has exciting news to share! After five successful years of helping girls build strong bones, the Office on Women’s Health (OWH) is transitioning leadership of the campaign to American Bone Health, a nonprofit based in Oakland, CA.
What does that mean exactly? American Bone Health will continue to bring Best Bones Forever! to communities across the country, thanks to its network of nearly 400 volunteers in 75 cities. In addition, the campaign will still be available online. The website, which will move fromwww.bestbonesforever.gov to www.bestbonesforever.org, will continue to offer accurate, reliable information about bone health, as well as fun interactive features such as quizzes and recipes. The Facebook page (www.facebook.com/bestbonesforever) and Twitter account (@bestbones4ever) will also continue to be available — the only difference is that they will be maintained by American Bone Health. Finally, American Bone Health will continue to focus on building partnerships.
Over the last five years, we have reached millions of girls with important information about their bone health, thanks in large part to the dedication of our partners and the organizations across the country who worked with us to reach girls where they live, learn, and play. Thank you! We know that the campaign’s successes will only continue under the leadership of American Bone Health, and we hope you will continue to support the campaign and help girls build their “best bones forever!”
If you have any questions about the transition, please contact Ann Abercrombie atann.abercrombie@hhs.gov. If you have any questions about future partnership opportunities, please contact American Bone Health Executive Director Kathleen Cody atkathleen@americanbonehealth.org.
