Get Involved to #SaveKidsLives Worldwide!

CDC: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Your Online Source for Credible Health Information
#SaveKidsLives with road safety

Today marks the start of Global Road Safety Week! The campaign theme for this year is #SaveKidsLives and seeks to draw attention to the urgent need to better protect children and teens on the roads and generate action to do so.
CDC’s Injury Center encourages you to help #SaveKidsLives and get involved in this year’s events by:
  • Posting and sharing your #Safie (safety selfie). Here’s how:
    • Download the campaign poster (in Englishand Spanish).
    • Write a road safety message.
    • Take a photo.
    • Share it on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with the hashtag #Safie and #SaveKidsLives.
  • Connecting with groups in your community, such as state and local chapters of Safe Kids, to participate in local events and activities.
  • Following CDC’s Injury Center on social media “@CDCInjury” and “@DebhouryCDC” to get safety tips.
Why This Is Important
Every day more than 500 children and teens lose their lives in traffic crashes globally. Tens of thousands are injured. Road traffic deaths are predicted to rise to the fifth leading cause of death by 2030, unless we take action now.
